House Renovation

English conversation topic about home renovation

Before... After

Your takeaway at the end of this lesson: enough vocabulary and well-managed ideas to confidently speak about home remodeling and renovation and the culture behind it.

Due to rising property prices, some people think about makeover or renovation of their place. Renovating a house can be a rollercoaster of ups and downs. It needs everything changing; from windows to wallpapers, or everything that looks dated to the renovators. It’s a brave decision especially for those who are sensible with money and have no technical support among friends and family.

In some regions it’s becoming a norm for people to get an old structure, improve it, and turn it into their dream home. They prefer to live in a house where has been designed purposefully to their heart delight. They think it’s worth the effort because it is a phenomenal way to breathe new life into an old home and put their mark on the property and not to mention, add to its value. But it surely comes with lots of planning, hard work, and sometimes a project destroying issue!

How about your city? Do people prefer to buy decorated new houses or most of them have their heart set on old buildings?

In this lesson you are going to learn more ideas and vocabulary to speak confidently about renovation, makeover, and remodeling a house.
